Preschool RTI, or Response to Intervention, is a comprehensive approach to early childhood intervention that focuses on providing individualized instruction and support to students who are struggling academically or behaviorally. It is an increasingly popular intervention method in early childhood education, as it is a proactive approach that can help identify and address any academic or behavioral issues in young children before they become more serious problems.

This plan should include interventions that are evidence–based and tailored to the student’s individual needs. For example, a student struggling with reading may be provided with a reading intervention program, while a student struggling with math may be provided with a math intervention program. The RTI approach also emphasizes close collaboration between teachers and parents to ensure that the student’s individualized learning plan is being implemented correctly. Parents and teachers should work together to ensure that the interventions are effective and to monitor the student’s progress.
Additionally, teachers should work closely with other professionals, such as school psychologists, social workers, and speech–language pathologists, to ensure that the student is receiving appropriate interventions. Finally, the RTI approach also focuses on providing positive reinforcement and social–emotional support for the student. It is important to recognize the student’s successes and to foster a positive learning environment. Additionally, it is important to provide the student with strategies for self–regulation, problem solving, and coping skills so that they can better manage their emotions and behaviors.
